Environment

Our environmental credentials are a high priority for us, both for our ethical duty to reduce our use of global resources and also to ensure our continued success.

 

We were the first company to achieve Level 3 Accreditation of the Green Dragon Environmental Standard.  This involves the continual evaluation of our waste management policies, including recylcing, use of hazardous chemicals and disposal of packaging.

Over the last 10 years, we have tranformed our policies on environmental issues. For example, in 2001, all the waste from our factory was going into landfill.  By 2007, we were recyling 90% of our waste - even though production had increased almost 100%.

The wood, paper and cardboard that we use is from sustainably managed forests, minimising the use of natural resources and all wood based waste is recycled, as are the vast majority of plastics.

MFC board is a major component in the construction of kitchen furniture, and we ensure that ours is manufactured under the Quality Management System ISO 9000: 2000. This means that it is an environmentally friendly alternative to imported hardwoods.
