Ways to Use Your Boot Room

Keep Your Home Clean: Many homeowners hang coats on banister posts and pile muddy shoes on clean carpets. A boot room, though, stops clutter and dirt spreading beyond the door.

Change with Ease: Ever switched shoes while balancing on one leg? We’ve all tried, dropped a bag and got wet socks. Fortunately, bootility units allow you to hang scarves and bags while you sit comfortably to change your footware.

Welcome Guests: Imagine a plush hallway. A butler to take your coat. A cabinet to hide clutter. A Masterclass boot room comprises all three, making it seem like you have hired help to welcome you home.

Free Up Kitchen Space: We’re all guilty of resting garden tools on dining tables and stuffing dog leads under sinks. A boot room provides ideal storage for those miscellaneous items, keeping your kitchen free for cooking and entertaining.

What our customers are saying

Don’t Take Our Word for It

“ The boot room storage area has completely transformed our entrance hall and got rid of all the clutter. Andrew did a great job of installing both and we love the finished result!”

– Sue Llewellyn, Trustpilot Review

“ I recently bought a boot room from Sigma 3. Becca was very diligent and replying to my messages outside working hours. The lady who made us coffee and squash for the kids was so lovely and welcoming. We’ve just installed it and we are very happy.”

– Heather Mills, Trustpilot Review

“ I have installed an Ashbourne Classic Shaker kitchen in Vintage Rose and a beautiful Masterclass boot room in Coastal Mist. They are both stunning and we love the boot room which is used constantly after dog walks, and sorting out our horses! They offer a superb service with fantastic after sales. We are delighted with our new rooms!”

Customer questions and answers

Customer Questions Answered

Q: What is a boot room?

Traditionally used for coats, hats, umbrellas and even sports equipment, a boot room – or “mud room” as they’re called in the US – was once a dedicated storage room situated near the front door of a wealthy family’s home. They provided space to deposit outdoor clothes to protect the interior from dirt.

Q: How big should a boot room be?

Boot rooms originally took up an entire reception room in affluent families’ homes. However, you don’t need a large room in the modern world, nor do you even need a whole one. A porch or hallway can act as a multi-purpose boot room using a unit as narrow as just 600mm wide.

Q: How do you design a boot room?

Boot rooms need just two components: storage and a seating space. Coat hooks also offer a useful aid but they aren’t vital. Thankfully, Masterclass boot room units cover all the pillars of exemplary boot room design.

Q: Are bootility rooms and boot room units the same thing?

A boot room unit – or bootility unit – is an item of furniture that fits inside a boot room. However, you can make any space a boot room, so long as it contains a boot room unit.
